Round 4 – NISA Feeders King of the Yare Series & Open Match 9th July – Simon Smith wins on Roach

Seventy two anglers graced the banks of the River Yare on Saturday. Although there was bright sunshine and warm they were faced with yet another brisk northerly wind Browning Hotrods Simon Smith took the honours with a fine display of hemp fishing for the roach on peg 122. Marham based Simon weighed in 13lbs 6oz for the win.

Eddie Hall fished feeder on peg 139 at Langley for the whole day to amass a mixed net of roach and small skimmers for 9lbs 15oz and second in the match just ahead of round three winner Bob Nudd in third place with 9lbs 6oz of pole caught roach from peg 167, the same peg as he had drawn the week before.

Only nine ounces separated the next three anglers, Craig (Scrappy) Nichols once again fish the Bollo on peg 64 for fourth place with 8lbs 14oz only two ounces ahead of Rob Houlding with 8lbs 12oz from peg for fifth.

The final place in the frame went to Mick Hanks with 8lbs 5oz from peg 126.
