Rob Houlding Wins Norfolk Broads Three Rivers Festival With A Perfect Score

Eighty seven anglers from all over the country descended on Norfolk to compete in this very popular event.

Essex based angler Rob Houlding fishing for Cresta UK took the honours with a brilliant perfect score of three section wins over the three days.

Day 1 Rob Houlding kept up his winning form by topping the table with 24lbs 7oz

second was Simon Smith with 23lbs 8oz with Graham Coles third with 22lbs 12oz

Day 2 Ricky cook made it worth his while travelling up from the south winning with 30lbs 14oz with Steve Hemingray second on 26lbs 13oz followed by Graham West with 25lbs 2oz.

Day 3 Steve Clark topped the weights on the final day on the River Yare with 15lbs 9oz from peg 68 with runner up Craig Nichols netting 13lbs 8oz from next peg 67, while Steve Hemingray amassed 13lbs 1oz for third

There were with perfect scores of 2 penalty points only separated by weight difference going into the final day. Rob Houlding with combined weight of 42lbs 15oz followed by Mark Murdoch with a combined weight of 39lbs 11oz and Ray Malle with a combined weight of 29lbs 12oz. And Steve Clake on three points

It was all to fish for on the final day, at the draw all four pulled out different sections, so it had the potential of being very tight. As the result boards came in it was evident that Ray Malle and Mark Murdoch had came third in their sections giving them a total of five points and Steve Clark had won his giving him a total of four points. The last result board arrived and Rob Houlding had won his section giving him a perfect score of three section wins to win the festival.
